How to write a coherent story

The AI draws every shot from what you write. The clearer and more fixed each character, place and object is, the fewer mistakes: no one changes face, appears twice or changes size.

Guide

Characters

  • Give each character one name and always use that same name: no nicknames, no “the boy” later on.
  • Describe each one the same way every time: age (18 or older), build, face, hair, skin, exact clothing with colours and materials, and accessories.
  • Give their height in metres, consistent with the others (who is taller than whom).
  • They keep the same clothes in every scene unless the scene says they change.
  • Nobody under 18: Google's video model refuses to show minors, so make them adults or non-human characters.
  • For a real person, upload a front photo of their face, then right and left profile and a full-body photo.

Settings

  • Describe each place: materials, light (time of day, colour) and layout (where the door, the window or the table is).
  • Call each place by the same name every time it appears.

Objects

  • Only 0 to 2 important objects: a product, an object that keeps coming back, a vehicle.
  • Describe each one and give its real size (“about 20 cm, fits in one hand”). It's one single object: don't ask for two of it.

Scenes and shots

  • In each scene, say who appears and how many people there are in total (“Only Ana and Marc are in the kitchen”).
  • If there are extras, say so and how many (“three customers in the background”).
  • One action per shot, short enough to fit in its seconds: a gesture and a line or two.
  • Avoid asking for two copies of someone, mirrors or reflections, or posters and screens with their face: the AI tends to draw the person twice.
  • Write the dialogue word for word and say who says each line.

Before drawing

  • Check the character, setting and object sheets in Scenario before making the storyboard: fix them there, not scene by scene.
  • If a picture comes out wrong, the scene flags it: draw that one again.

Frequently asked questions

I'm new. Where do I start?
Open the guided form in Pitch. Answer its questions and it fills in the pitch and the sheets of your characters, settings and objects for you. Then check them and press Create.
Why does a character look different from one shot to another?
Because their description changes or is vague. Use the same name always, describe their age, face, hair and exact clothing once in their sheet, and upload a photo if it's a real person.
Why does the same person appear twice in a picture?
It usually comes from mirrors, reflections, posters with their face or asking for two of them. Say in each scene who appears and how many people there are in total.
Why do people or objects change size?
Give each character their height in metres and each object its real size. The app keeps them in every shot.
Why did my scene with a child fail?
Google's video model doesn't show anyone under 18. Make the character an adult or a non-human character.
How do I keep a real person's face?
Upload a front photo of their face, then right and left profile and a full-body photo, in the guided form or later in their sheet. Each image of the character is made with them.
How many characters and objects should I use?
Few: two to four main characters and at most two important objects. The fewer elements, the fewer mistakes.
What should I write in each scene?
Where it happens, who appears and how many people in total, if there are extras, and one single action that fits in the shot's seconds.
Can a character change clothes?
Yes, but only if the scene says so. Otherwise they keep the clothes in their sheet in every scene.
What language are the form's texts written in?
In the story's language if you choose one; if not, in the language you use the app in. You can write in your own words: the writer translates them when it creates the story, at no extra cost.
How do I delete a story?
Open Stories on the rail. Open the «…» menu of the story's poster, choose «Delete the story» and confirm. It can't be undone: the story, its pictures, clips, audio, links and saved versions are deleted. Only its creator, or the team's owner for a team story, can delete it. To get it out of sight without deleting anything, choose «Archive» instead.
How do I make a copy of a story to try changes?
In Your stories, or in the story's header next to History, open the «…» menu and choose «Save a copy as…». Give the copy a name (it suggests «<name> (copy)») and press «Make the copy»: it opens straight away. The copy has everything (script, characters, places, objects, storyboard, clips, voices, music, lower thirds, transitions and edit) with its own files, so changing or deleting one never affects the other. It costs no credits. Links, saved versions and Unreal or Unity work stay with the original, and the copy goes to the space you're working in.
How do I rename, pin or hide a story?
In Your stories, each story's «…» menu has «Rename» (or double-click its name), «Pin to the top» and «Archive». An archived story disappears from the list and the story picker without deleting anything; «Archived» at the top of the list shows them, and «Back to the list» returns one. The list can be ordered by last edit, date created or name.
How do I get help inside the app?
Press Help on the rail, then «Ask for help», and ask in your own words. The help assistant answers from the app's help, knows your mode and plan, and can open the right screen. Questions are free.
Is there a video that shows how the app works?
Yes: Help → Watch the intro video, a two-minute guided tour from the pitch to export, in your language and with subtitles. The quick-start guide, in Help too, points at each part of the screen you are on.
What changes between Beginner, Professional and Filmmaker?
All three make the same film; what changes is how much control you get. Beginner is the guided path; Professional adds the step-by-step form, models, prompts and more export formats; Filmmaker adds the shot list, the production office and Unreal Engine and Unity. Switch it on the rail, Account → Mode, and «Compare modes» shows the full table. Professional comes with the Creador plan and Filmmaker with Pro.
How do credits work, and what if I run out?
Every AI call (text, picture, clip, voice, music) uses credits, and the app shows the cost before you run it; editing by hand is free. Your plan gives credits every month, which pile up for up to 3 months. If they run out, buy usage credits, which never expire, or upgrade your plan, from the credits bar at the foot of the rail. When a generation fails, its credits come back on their own.
How does the 18-day free trial work?
Creador, Pro and Estudio start with an 18-day free trial, once per person (by email and by card). You give your card, and the payment page shows the day of the first charge and its price before you confirm; we also email you three days before. The trial gives 3,000 credits, about one or two short films, and makes video, LED backgrounds and exports at up to 1080p; the plan's monthly credits and 4K arrive with the first payment. To stop it, Credits → Cancel trial: nothing is charged and your account goes back to Free with all your stories.
What do draft, approved and final mean for a shot?
Each clip is first made as a cheap draft. «Approve» accepts it at no cost, and «Finalize» makes it once more in high quality, so you only pay top quality for shots you like. In Filmmaker mode you can skip the draft and pick each shot's model and resolution.
Which video model should I choose?
When you generate or finalize a shot you pick the model and see its credits. Gemini Omni Flash, Google's newest (preview), looks more realistic than Veo 3.1 for less than half its credits at 1080p and makes clips of 3 to 10 seconds, up to 4K. Veo 3.1 Lite is the cheapest, for drafts. Until 18 December 2026, clips asked for in Veo 3.1 Fast are made with Veo 3.1 for the same credits. The model also sets how long a shot can be: Veo 3.1 makes 4, 6 or 8 s, and the add-on's models longer shots (Kling up to 15 s, Wan and Seedance up to 30 s); the Pitch's «Duration per scene» slider follows it.
How do I undo a change or go back to an earlier version?
Use the arrows in the top bar, or Cmd/Ctrl+Z and Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z, to undo and redo; it puts back the images and clips already made, so it costs nothing. For older versions, press History: the app keeps one each time it writes the story or draws the storyboard, and you can save your own, compare two and restore one without losing anything.
How do I start a story from a screenplay or a video?
In the pitch, import your screenplay (also .odt) and the app makes the whole film from it. Or paste a YouTube link or upload a video as an example: the app studies its look, rhythm and tone and proposes three stories in the same spirit. In the story chat, type / to see commands such as /file, /video, /vertical or /1-minute.
What do I do when Google blocks a scene?
The scene shows what was blocked. Press «Fix and regenerate»: it rewrites only what was blocked and makes the image or the clip again, with the same characters, references and style. Scenes with someone under 18 can't be made into video: make the character an adult.
How do I delete a scene?
In the Storyboard, grid or list view, press the bin next to Edit on the scene. You can do it while other scenes are being generated.
How do I change a character, a setting or a shot with AI?
Each character, setting, prop and shot has a «Chat»: ask in your own words («make it more cinematic») and the film crew answers, or only the expert you pick in «Ask». It proposes up to three changes that you apply with one click, and says when a change needs a new image and what it costs. «Edit» changes the name, description and picture by hand.
What is the production office, and what are Interactive, Real and Virtual mode?
In Filmmaker mode, the production office (Storyboard) is a film crew of 20 AI agents: give an order to the whole crew and the director shares out the work, or click one agent. Interactive mode shows the studio floor and each proposal. Real mode shows it as a real studio: people with names (Marta the director, Leo on camera…) who talk to each other, every order as a dialogue said aloud in their voices, and the microphone to give orders by speaking. Virtual mode plays the same meeting in a film studio building, floor by floor: the crew act out every order (they talk, argue, worry and applaud) and the camera goes to whoever speaks; click a floor to go in. Before the first order it shows a real shooting day. All three cost the same. Nothing changes until you apply it.
How do I add subtitles or make my film in another language?
In the editor, above the player, pick subtitles in any language: they show as the film plays, and you can download them as SRT or export an MP4 with them burned in. «Change language» dubs the film without making it again: it translates and records the narration and dialogue with the story's voice, only films again the shots with dialogue on camera, shows the cost first and saves the dubbed version next to the original.
How do I add on-screen titles or watch the edit full screen?
In the editor, «Lower thirds», above the player, gives each shot a short text and one colour for all, painted over the picture in the player and in every export. «Advanced» chooses their shape, typeface (Lexend and Atkinson Hyperlegible read easily), size, colours, transition and place in a 3×3 grid, and makes each shot a title, a name and role, a key concept, a numbered step, a chapter, a tip or a warning, with a second line; a preview plays it over the shot's picture. «Suggest with AI» proposes them from the narration for you to review, and «Place away from the speaker» puts them where they don't cover the face of whoever speaks. The button in the bottom right corner of the player shows the film full screen; Esc brings you back.
How do I soften the cuts between scenes? Can I choose the transition?
Each cut already has an automatic transition: a very short dissolve («Seamless») in the same place, a soft fade to black when the place changes, a straight cut while a presenter talks. In the editor, the round button on each cut of the video track opens the picker: seamless, dissolve, soft fade to black, fade to white, wipe, push, zoom with blur or cut, with its duration, direction and how the sound crosses it (crossfade, J-cut or L-cut, which need a trimmed clip). Pointing at one plays that cut in the player; «Use on every cut» applies it to the whole film. Exports and the share link show the same transitions.
How do I export, share or publish my film?
In the editor, Export downloads the MP4; its arrow offers social media formats, audio only, subtitles, a package for DaVinci Resolve and other editors, and in Filmmaker mode an Unreal Engine project. You can also share it with a link or upload it to YouTube. Exporting files needs the Creador plan; the share link works on every plan.
How do I make a version of a film for another audience?
In Your stories, press «Version for another audience» on the film and choose another market, language, age, length (6, 15 or 30 s cuts), call to action or product. The AI adapts the script and keeps every shot that still works, so you only pay for what changes; the original stays as it is.
How do I find a shot or a character among my stories?
In Your stories, describe it in the search box («the night shot on the rooftop») and the app finds it among your stories and your team's, grouped by stories, characters, settings, props and shots. Click a result to open the story right there. It costs no credits.
How do I clone a voice for a character or the narration?
In the character's sheet, «Clone voice»: record or upload the consent sentence read by the voice's owner and a sample (any audio or video file; the first 30 seconds are used). Then the character can narrate and say their lines in the clips with that voice, and a small chat suggests variants (happier, slower, whispering…). Cloned voices come with the Pro plan.
How do I make a training or presenter video?
In the pitch, pick a training template (case study, good and bad practice, micro-lesson, conversation or Presenter). With Presenter, paste the text: the app narrates it first so you can check it, then films the presenter with their lips following the narration. Export the film as a SCORM package for your e-learning platform.
Why do a character's face, clothes or voice change from shot to shot?
Each shot is made on its own, and Veo only sees its first frame: a face that isn't in it, turns away or leaves the frame is drawn again from memory. The coherence advisor (the «Coherence» button in the top bar) checks each step against the continuity bible: a sharp front photo of at least 1000 px, a cloned or fixed voice for each character who speaks, exact clothes on the sheet, faces in the first frame, a camera that never leaves them (no orbits, cranes or moves to the sky), one take per clip, the same light in each place and dialogue that fits in the shot. It fixes what it can with «Fix», and «Generate videos» shows its checklist first.
What does the app remember about me, and can I turn it off?
Your memory learns your usual choices (style, format, genre, narration voice), the people with a photo or cloned voice in your stories and the corrections you keep asking for, so new stories start your way. See, edit or delete each memory, or turn it off, in Settings → Your memory.
How do I work with my team?
Create a team from the rail, Account → Personal (your space), and invite people by email. In the team's space, new stories belong to the team and the AI is paid from its shared credits. Switch between your space and the team's in the same place; with a team, «Team» also appears on the rail. Teams come with every paid plan: up to 3 people in Creador, 5 in Pro and 10 in Estudio.
How do I take my story to Unreal Engine or Unity?
In Filmmaker mode with the Estudio plan, open the Unreal Engine or Unity module: download the plugin, create an access token and paste it in the engine. «Build the previs» lays out the whole story in the engine for free: a camera per shot, the storyboard and stand-ins for the cast. The «Plugin guide» in the module explains each step.
What are LED wall plates?
Long looping backgrounds for the LED screen of a virtual production set, such as the view from a moving car or a still view through a window. Keyframes are drawn first, so you check the look before paying for video. They come with the Pro plan, in Professional and Filmmaker mode.
How do I report a problem or suggest something?
Help → Suggestions and feedback. Attach up to five files (screenshots, a short screen recording, a PDF), up to 8 MB each, or paste a screenshot straight into the text. The team answers in the app, and each approved suggestion earns 1,000 credits.

Ask the help assistant

Can't find your question? In the app, the help assistant answers in your own words: open Help on the rail and press «Ask for help».
